Speicher - Wolf – Grassi
 
 Martin Speicher and Georg Wolf have been frequent collaborators on everything from duos to large ensembles for over 20 years. They have performed and recorded in trio with drummer Lou Grassi since 2003.
MARTIN SPEICHER (DE) plays alto and sopranino saxophones, clarinet and bass clarinet.
 He is a member of several ensembles led by Jazz musicologist and author Ekkehard Jost.
For more than 20 years he has led several groups ranging from Jazz to composed New Music. He has composed numerous works for theatre, lectures of political music, and several compositions for a large ensemble of contemporary free jazz musicians.
 Performance highlights include: 1992 Documenta IX with Cecil Taylor, 1993 founded the 11-head LIVING SOUND ORCHESTRA, 1994 New Jazz Festival Moers with the Evan Parker Extended Project.
Martin spent ’94 and ‘95 furthering his studies in composition, followed by several years of intensive collaboration with the German painter Harald  Jegodzinski, resulting in his highly acclaimed ERDTÖNE cycle. (Living Sound Orchestra Erdtöne Cycle MSP PR 58)
In his home of Kassel he is the founder of The LOFT MUSIC concert series as well as DIFFERENT DENSITIES, adance/music-performance series.
In 1999 he received the award of the ZIPPEL Foundation, Kassel, DE.
Since 2000 he has been composing for and performing with several multi-media projects including Fragmente einer Eroberung (fragments of a conquest) for choir and small ensemble, Different Densities II, Different Densities III, RELUDIEN & METAMORPHOSEN, a 4-day multimedia project for the Luthertower in Kassel and LICHTLIEDER/SONGS OF ENLIGHTMENT for musicians, singer and improvising light-artist.
 Bassist GEORG WOLF (DE) is esteemed for his authentic doublebass sound and his integrative ensemble playing. Playing jazz and improvised music inspired by the european tradition he has performed and recorded with numerous artists including Biggi Vinkeloe, Kxutrio, Günter Christmann, Cecil Taylor, the doublebass sextet “Ensemble Sondarc,” the large ensembles “fineworks” and “Ensemble 2Incq” the Uwe Oberg Trio, Matthias Schubert, Frank Gratkowski, Heinz Sauer, the Tom Heurich Trio, John Russell Quaqua ,duos with bassist U. Phillipp and with trombonist Paul Hubweber and collaborations with dancers including Fine Kwiatkowski and Bettina Helmrich.
 Georg’s Festival credits include Archangelsk (USSR), Umea (S), Leipzig (GDR), Taktlos (CH), Moers (D), London (GB),
Ullrichsberger Kaleidiphon (A), Kryptonale Berlin (D), Saitensprünge (Radio Bremen, D), Jazzfest Brno (CZ), Kopenhagen (DK).
 Drummer LOU GRASSI (USA) is internationally known for his work in both the traditional and the avant-garde jazz worlds. From the 1970’s to the present, Lou has performed and/or recorded with a great variety of outstanding artists, including Marshall Allen, Borah Bergman, Rob Brown, Joe Fonda, Charles Gayle, Burton Greene, Gunter Hampel, John Hartman, Joseph Jarman, Sheila Jordan, Wilber Morris, William Parker, Perry Robinson, Roswell Rudd, John Tchicai, Fred van Hove and Mark Whitecage. Lou is the leader of the Lou Grassi PoBand which has released five CDs and received critical acclaim worldwide. He has toured extensively, performing throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Central America  and Russia, and has been a featured artist at numerous international festivals.
